Wayne Leechford: Chapman Stick

Wayne LeechfordWayne Leechford is a multi-instrumental musician and music instructor based in Raleigh, North Carolina. He performs a diverse variety of musical styles. Wayne holds a Bachelor and Master of Music from the NC School of the Arts.

Wayne has been a professional musician for over 20 years. He specializes on saxophones, but also plays clarinet, flute, guitar, bass, and the Chapman Stick. Wayne has extensive recording experience and has been involved in many commercially released recordings over the years. His sax playing was featured in the film trailer for Warner Brothers, “The Whole Nine Yards”. Wayne has performed across the country and his performances have ranged widely from night clubs and cafes to society gatherings, festivals, theater productions, and concert halls. His appearances have also included live television and radio broadcasts. In 1995, he performed for President Bill Clinton at the White House.

In addition to Ozone Quartet, Wayne performs and records with Children of the Horn and many other groups and ensembles. He teaches saxophone and clarinet at his private studios in Raleigh and Cary, NC. Check out Wayne's article on the Chapman Stick.
